Basic Sewing

  Sewing is supposed to be enjoyable and relaxing!
 

It's not something which is so complicated that it needs detailed instructions (unless, of course, you're hoping to create a Vogue ball gown!).

It is a hobby or craft which everyone can access and enjoy the creating their own garments.

 

 There are some basic sewing techniques and skills that you'll find helpful in your own home and will help you to lose your fear of sewing.

Making Knee Patches

Not only will this save money, but also ensure that your children's clothes last longer.

There's nothing more frustrating that a hole in a new pair of trousers from a fall or accident!

Whilst iron-on patches can work, for boisterous boys, sewing on a patch will probably be more successful.

If you buy some fusible webbing (just ask in the fabric shop) and either lining material or similar fabric.  Simply cut to size and shape to fit your requirements.
