Easy Sewing Projects
A great no sew project to brighten your home in no time, is a new window treatment. Making a stylish window treatment is easy with no sewing patterns to worry about, and very little expense in the way of supplies.
There’s no need of sewing patterns for many shades and draperies, only the window measurements, and a basic knowledge of how to construct the treatment. For instance, roman shades take a little bit of work, but have a beautiful effect and anyone who can use an iron can accomplish them with the help of a little fusible hem. In fact fusible hem can be used to aid in the creation of roller shades, hobbled shades and a great variety of other window treatments. Though, actual stitching will wear better through washes and last longer.
Another idea for a no sew window treatment is a nice swag to brighten up the room and match your décor. You can use plain store bought sheers and dress up a larger window by installing a decorative drapery rod at the top of your window. Your fabric should drape down at the top of your widow, and you can attach it to the drapery rod with drapery rings at each end. The fabric can be as long as you like, and you can dress it up with other accents found at your local craft or fabric store. Maybe long tassels to hang down from each end of the rod with your fabric, or a long string of well made flowers draped around the your drapery rod.
